Formats, Palletisation and Container Loads

Figures from our current export offer. Last reviewed 8 August 2026.

Every format we pack, how many units go in a case, how many cases go on a pallet, and how much fits in a container. Buyers ask this before they ask anything else, so here it is in full rather than on request.

We quote FOB Radès, Tunisia for both olive oil and Poppa Peppa antipasti, with CFR and CIF available on request. Prices are not published because olive oil is priced by harvest, variety and grade — ask and we will quote against your specification.

Foodservice formats

For restaurants, hotels and caterers the working formats are the metallic tins. They keep light out, they stack, and they cost far less per litre than a small bottle.

Format Units per case Cases per pallet Units per pallet
3 litre metallic tin 4 100 400
5 litre metallic tin 4 80 320

A common foodservice order pairs 3 or 5 litre tins for the kitchen with 250 ml or 500 ml bottles for the table. Both come from the same lot, so what the chef cooks with and what the guest pours are the same oil.

Glass bottle palletisation

Our bottles come in two shapes. Dorica is the classic straight-sided bottle. Marasca is the square-shouldered bottle, and it is the only shape we pack in 1 litre. Pallet counts differ between the two, and differ again between Euro and US pallets, so check the row that matches your market.

Dorica on Euro pallets

Size Units per case Cases per pallet Bottles per pallet
250 ml 12 217 2,604
500 ml 12 132 1,584
750 ml 12 102 1,224

Marasca on Euro pallets

Size Units per case Cases per pallet Bottles per pallet
250 ml 12 217 2,604
500 ml 12 126 1,512
750 ml 12 102 1,224
1 litre 12 84 1,008

Glass bottles on US pallets

Size Units per case Cases per pallet Bottles per pallet
250 ml 12 256 3,072
500 ml 12 154 1,848
750 ml 12 102 1,224
1 litre 12 90 1,080

US pallets take more per pallet at the small sizes — 3,072 bottles of 250 ml against 2,604 on a Euro pallet. If you are shipping to the United States, that difference is worth building into your costing.

Bulk: drums, SpaceKraft and flexitank

Format Per 20-foot container Per 40-foot container
Drum, 200 kg 80 160
SpaceKraft / IBC, 1,000 litres (916 kg) 10 20
Flexitank, about 22 tonnes 1

A flexitank fills a 20-foot container on its own and is the cheapest way to move oil per kilo. Drums and SpaceKraft suit buyers who need to draw the oil down in stages or who do not have bulk handling at the other end. Configure a bulk specification at bulk.olyfo.com.

Where a product appears once above, the pallet count shown is the configuration on our current export offer. Confirm the count for your chosen jar size when you order.

Poppa Peppa jars have a three-year shelf life and need no refrigeration before opening. Everything is 100% natural, with no preservatives or additives, and vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO. Our harissa is made with sunflower oil, not olive oil.

Minimum orders

What you are buying Minimum
OLYFO bottled brands 1 pallet per SKU
Private label 3 pallets per SKU
Poppa Peppa antipasti 1 pallet per SKU
Bulk olive oil 1 full 20-foot container

Those minimums exist because below them the freight per unit eats the margin — yours and ours. If you are testing a market and a pallet is too much, say so and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.

Questions

How many bottles of olive oil fit on a pallet?

On a Euro pallet, OLYFO packs 2,604 bottles of 250 ml, 1,584 of 500 ml in Dorica or 1,512 in Marasca, 1,224 of 750 ml, and 1,008 of 1 litre. On a US pallet it is 3,072 of 250 ml, 1,848 of 500 ml, 1,224 of 750 ml and 1,080 of 1 litre. All bottle formats pack 12 units to a case.

How much olive oil fits in a container?

One flexitank of about 22 tonnes fills a 20-foot container. In drums it is 80 drums of 200 kg per 20-foot container or 160 per 40-foot. In 1,000 litre SpaceKraft or IBC it is 10 per 20-foot container or 20 per 40-foot.

What sizes does OLYFO offer for restaurants and hotels?

Metallic tins of 3 litres and 5 litres are the foodservice formats. A 3 litre tin packs 4 to a case and 400 units to a pallet; a 5 litre tin packs 4 to a case and 320 units to a pallet. Many kitchens pair these with 250 ml or 500 ml bottles for table service.

What is the minimum order?

One pallet per SKU for OLYFO bottled brands and for Poppa Peppa antipasti, three pallets per SKU for private label, and one full 20-foot container for bulk oil.
