Can you deliver to my port?

In almost every case, yes. Radès has regular sailings to European, North American, West African and Gulf ports. Give us the destination port and the format and we will quote CIF to it.

What is the difference between FOB and CIF for me?

With FOB you arrange and pay for the sea freight and insurance, and you control the carrier. With CIF we arrange both and the number in the quotation is the number that lands at your port. FOB usually costs less if you already ship regularly; CIF is simpler if you do not.

How much fits in a container?

One flexitank of about 22 tonnes fills a 20-foot container. In drums it is 80 drums of 200 kg per 20-foot or 160 per 40-foot. In 1,000 litre containers it is 10 per 20-foot or 20 per 40-foot. Packed goods depend on the format and are listed on our palletisation page.

Do you ship less than a full container?

For packed goods, yes, from one pallet per SKU on our own brands. Bulk starts at one 20-foot container because that is the smallest unit a flexitank or a drum load makes sense in.

Why Radès

Radès is Tunisia’s main container port and it sits a short drive from our bottling and storage partners. Tunisia exported 352,000 tonnes of olive oil in the 2025/26 season, most of it through this port, so the sailings, the reefer capacity and the customs handling for food exports are routine rather than exceptional. That matters more than it sounds: an unusual route is where delays and demurrage come from.

FOB or CIF — which one you want

This is the question behind the question, so here is the plain version.

FOB Radès. We deliver the goods loaded on board at Radès. From that moment the freight, the insurance and the risk are yours, and so is the choice of carrier. If you already move containers regularly, your own freight rate will usually beat anything we can add, so FOB leaves you better off.
CIF your port. We arrange the sea freight and the marine insurance and the quoted figure is what it costs to land the goods at your port. Nothing to organise, one number to compare. If you are importing for the first time, or you are comparing us against a supplier who quoted you CIF, ask for CIF so you are comparing like with like.

One warning worth more than the rest of this page: a FOB price and a CIF price are not comparable. A supplier quoting FOB will always look cheaper than one quoting CIF for the same oil. Make every supplier quote on the same incoterm before you decide anything.

What fits in a container

Packed goods — depends on the bottle. A 500 ml Dorica on a Euro pallet is 12 to a case and 132 cases to a pallet. The full table is on formats and palletisation.

Documents that travel with the goods

Bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of analysis for your specific lot, and a health certificate. Organic consignments also carry a transaction certificate issued against that lot and that destination. If your customs authority wants something else — and some do — tell us before production, not after.
