The world has been in love with olive oil since ancient times… The many different uses of the extra virgin olive oil range from medicinal to culinary !
Why cooking with extra virgin olive oil :
Extra virgin olive oil contains large amounts of antioxidants, which help to protect the body against free radicals. These antioxidants are also good for your heart, blood vessels and other organs.
It is simply a delicious alternative to food oils such as butter, cooking oils and margarine.
Extra virgin olive oil and temperature :
If you’re concerned about cooking with olive oil, don’t be. Extra Virgin Olive Oil can be heated for short periods at temperatures as high as 240ºC (475ºF) and can remain at temperatures as high as 180ºC (355ºF) for up to six hours without denaturing.
Frying with Extra Virgin Olive Oil :
When it comes to frying, we don't recommend using any other kind of oil... Extra virgin olive oil is a great choice because it has a high smoke point, which means it can be used at temperatures where other oils would begin to smoke and become dangerous.
PS: It is best to use a small frying pan. This allows you to pool more EVOO at the bottom without having to use a significant portion of the bottle. Using a larger pan means you will need to use more EVOO to achieve the same desired end result !
Grilling with Extra Virgin Olive Oil :
Vegetables, burgers and kebab are grilling-friendly foods that get extra flavor from using EVOO. Not only does using EVOO add extra layers of flavor to whatever you're grilling, but it can also make cooking safer and healthier.
Be sure to pour the EVOO and rub it in to cover the meat or vegetable as much as possible before placing it on the grill because it creates a barrier between the food and the heat.
Taste the difference and enjoy the great flavor !
