Welcome to our kitchen. Today, we are sharing a delightful and easy recipe for homemade Crackers using Olyfo Extra Virgin Olive Oil. These crackers are perfect for snacking, serving with cheese, or adding to your favorite charcuterie board. Let's get started!
Ingredients :
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup 2500 years of traditions
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, or oregano)
Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions :
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and dried herbs. Mix well to distribute the herbs evenly.
- Add the Wet Ingredients:
Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and water. Stir until the mixture forms a soft dough.
- Knead the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for a minute or two until smooth. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
Roll Out the Dough:
Divide the dough into two portions for easier handling. Roll out each portion as thinly as possible, ideally about 1/8 inch thick, on a floured surface.
- Cut the Crackers:
Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut the dough into desired shapes – squares, rectangles, or even fun cookie-cutter shapes. Transfer the cut pieces to the prepared baking sheet.
- Add the Topping:
Lightly brush the tops of the crackers with a little more Olyfo Extra Virgin Olive Oil and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
- Bake the Crackers:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crackers are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them, as they can brown quickly.
- Cool and Enjoy:
Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Once completely cooled, store them in an airtight container to maintain their crispness.
Tips for Serving:
Serve your homemade crackers with an assortment of cheeses, fresh fruits, and a drizzle of honey.
Pair them with a flavorful dip like hummus or tapenade.
Enjoy them on their own as a light and crunchy snack.
Happy baking and snacking!
